How To Tackle Emotional Stress When Pregnant – A Las Vegas Surrogate View

It can seem like you are always walking on eggshells when you are pregnant. Sometimes, everything will be going well and then you get to your favorite store and they are out of your favorite flavor of ice cream and the tears will come. You aren’t sure why you are crying, but you are embarrassed and want to hide away in a Target bathroom. This is something you would typically have cursed as bad luck but then moved on – but not when you’re pregnant.  Somehow, your pregnancy brain makes it out to be the end of the world, like everything and everyone is against you. Pregnancy has a way of making stress feel even worse, anger even stronger, and rage even more lethal. Your brain may feel like it’s on fire at times – this is completely normal. It is a bodily response to pregnancy that goes hand in hand with morning sickness, exhaustion, back pain, and swelling.

Remember Why You Wanted To Be Pregnant

Everyone has different reasons for being pregnant – maybe you are a Las Vegas Surrogate who is helping another family to build something they couldn’t build on their own. Maybe you’ve always dreamt about starting your own family. Whatever the reason is, you need to take a deep breath and remember why you wanted to do this in the first place. This should easily put things into perspective for you and help you to at least calm down a little.

No matter what, this is going to be a miraculous experience, but there will be some lows. Sometimes, you just have to remember why you did it. On days when even that isn’t possible (and you may have those days) there are some other options available to you.

Practice Meditation or Guided Breathing

There is a lot that can be said for meditation and guided breathing – but some people just aren’t open to it. Modern medicine has done a lot, but there are a few things that it just cannot do. Learn techniques for meditation or deep breathing that will allow you to calm down. This isn’t something you need to do only when you are pregnant – learning this skill now will help you for the rest of your life when you are dealing with just about anything – related to kids or not.

The good thing about meditation is that you can do it almost everywhere – so when you get mad in the grocery store, at night, or in the middle of a meeting.

Treat Yourself

There is nothing wrong with treating yourself after a bad day. Maybe you can schedule a massage session, get your nails done, or go get a facial to make yourself feel better. If that doesn’t appeal to you, you can go to get your favorite treat to eat, go see a movie, or buy yourself something nice. It doesn’t even have to be something that costs money – maybe you can give yourself a day off, try to watch a binge-worthy show, take a nice bubble bath, or simply put your phone away for a day.

There are so many different ways to treat yourself and while it may not make all of the emotions go away, it can allow you to sort through those feelings.

Remember You Are Allowed to Feel All The Feels

When you are pregnant, your body is going through a lot – and so is your brain. Remember that you are allowed to feel things and express them. Do not hold everything in or it will only make it worse. Instead, you should consider talking to a professional, grab a (decaf) coffee with a friend, or simply go for a walk with someone who will listen to you. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to get angry. What isn’t okay is to let that feeling take over.

If you are pregnant, remember that this is only a small portion of your life – you will get through this and the resulting miracle will be worth it all. Pregnancy is something that is so unique to women and it is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before and may never experience again.
